The City Council met in a special session on the 26th day of
March, 2010 at 6:00 PM in the Council Room.
Present: Greg Hansen, Leonard McLaughlin, Xiong Yang and Jeff
Harnack
Absent: Todd Harrington
Also Present: Tom Hansen
Mayor Hansen presided at the meeting
The Primary purpose of the meeting was to discuss the purchase
of a street sweeper and to determine the date and procedures for
the Citywide Cleanup.
Tom Hansen and Greg Hansen together presented the council with
quotes for five different sweepers. Discussion was held and the
decision was made to go ahead with the purchase of a 2001 Elgin
Sweeper with 7085 hours, a hydrolic drive, a one year warranty
on major parts, for the price of $42,288. 4M Funds from the
Vehicle replacement fund in the amount of $8907.71 will be
transferred to the General Fund to be used towards the purchase
of the sweeper. Motion by Leonard McLaughlin, second by Xiong
Yang to approve the purchase of this sweeper. All voted in
favor, motion carried.
Discussion was held on the City Wide cleanup. The council
determined the rates for disposing of appliances, furniture and
electronics. The date for the cleanup will be May 8, 2010 from
8am- 1pm.
Motion by Jeff Harnack, second by Leonard McLaughlin to
adjourn. All voted in favor, motion carried.
