The City Council met in a special session on the 12th day of
September at 6:00 PM in the Council Room.
Present: Greg Hansen, Donald E. Johnson, Leonard McLaughlin,
Todd Harrington and Xiong Yang
Also present: Carol Swanson
The purpose of the meeting was to determine the final payment
options for the 1993 Street payments and to reconsider some
budget items.
Mayor Hansen presided at the meeting
Discussion was held on whether the tax levy was appropriate.
Motion by Leonard McLaughlin, second by Donald E. Johnson to
rescind the motion to accept the resolution for the tax levy
from the September 8, 2008 regular council meeting. All voted
in favor, motion carried.
Discussion was held on increasing the budget by $5988 for the
seal coating project and then transferring the remaining funds
if needed for this project from the Bar & Grill Fund. Fund #304
may be short for the final payment of the 1993 Street project.
The council determined that it would use general fund reserves
to cover any shortage on the final payment.
Motion by Leonard McLaughlin, second by Donald E. Johnson to
approve the Tax Levy Resolution in the amount of $135,149.00 for
the General Fund and $40,851.00 for the G.O. Improvement Bonds
of 2004, with a total Tax Levy of $176,000.00. All voted in
favor, motion carried.
Motion by Donald E. Johnson, second by Leonard McLaughlin to
adjourn. All voted in favor, motion carried.
